Let’s talk about: Inspiration, Technology, Connect and Money
In Workshops, panel discussions and fireside chats - everything revolved around the direct exchange between startups and corporates. With people who understand both sides. “The good, the bad and the ugly.”
The magic of new products begins where you tear down the silos of industries and embrace collaboration between corporates and startups.
As best practices of corporates and startups within track “Connect” we were on stage with the two startups Finanzguru and Mineko to present our first dbAPI use case. A great opportunity to make the Deutsche Bank API program tangible and present our new digital ecosystem that enables uncomplicated possibilities of collaboration between startups and Deutsche Bank – and that in a super-fast time.
One year back, our team was still working flat out on the final preparations for the first API/Open Deutsche Bank Hackathon – the event where the cornerstone of Finanzguru would be coded shortly afterwards. The idea of the personal financial assistant as a guru, who minimizes the effort to manage contracts and finances convinced not only the jury. The Hackathon was the beginning of a dynamic partnership with the full-blood startup, whose app is now the first successful implemented dbAPI use case.
Mineko, on the other hand, we met at the Startupnight 2016.
The startup had discovered that 81% of all utility bills issued in Germany are flawed. On average a private tenant pays 221 € too much because of incorrect bills. So, Mineko built up a team of legal and automation experts and is now capable to provide a high quality legal check of private and commercial utility bills at a fraction of the costs of a lawyer. We were excited about the business case and decided to connect the two startups. With success!
Finanzguru users now have the possibility to use Mineko’s service within the app at great conditions.
1 Night – 4 Locations – 230 exhibiting startups
Following our panel we went directly to the atrium of Deutsche Bank.
Next to Finanzguru and Mineko, 32 other startups presented their business case,
mostly from the fintech and data analysis sectors.
From AI Bots as social tour guides for museums, to „Dirror” the first digital mirror computer that organizes the daily life at home through to “cringle”, a financial service company which facilitates electronic p2p payments throughout Europe – the startupnight was the night of the nights for great exchange between innovation and expertise.
